Praise God! We Need Not Walk In darkness!

*Are you a child of light?

                      HOW DO YOU KNOW?

                                  Are you living according to His Word?

                                                               WHAT HOPE HAVE YE?

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Isaiah 60:1,2

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Psalm 36:9

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

Psalm 43:3

Let this be our prayer!!

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Proverbs 4:18

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Proverbs 3:13

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Proverbs 4:7

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Proverbs 7:4

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Proverbs 8:11

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 9:10

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Proverbs 3:3

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Psalm 51:6

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Psalm 85:10

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:17

 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Luke 11:34-36

There are MMMAANNYY more verses! Go look them up, and be encouraged to renew your first love! He will bless the efforts of the diligent, and will hear the effectual, fervent, prayers of a righteous man!

Thank you Oh my Father, for giving us light, that we need not dwell in darkness! Help me to comprehend the light, and in Thy light, to see the light! Do not, I pray Thee, darken my foolish heart!

There is A Fountain Filled With Blood! Halleluiah!

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.
Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power
Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.
Be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.

When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save. I’ll sing Thy power to save, I’ll sing Thy power to save;
Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save.

E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

*William Cowper

What a glorious hymn! What a merciful Saviour we have! Thank you, oh LORD, for the precious Blood that you spilled for your saints. Help us to NEVER, NO NEVER! forget or take for granted your de-merited favour!  This hymn is one of my MANY favourites! William Cowper was an amazing poet and lyricist! Praise the Lord for the talent He gives to some men, that we may benefit from!

*William Cowper, 1731–1800

This hymn text was written by English writer, William Cowper, whose emotional life was one of great turmoil. At an early age he was directed by his father to study law. Upon completion of his studies, however, the prospect of appearing for his final examination before the bar so frightened him that it caused a mental breakdown and an attempted suicide. Later he was placed in an insane asylum for eighteen months. During this detention, he read one day from the Scriptures the passage in Romans 3:25 that Jesus Christ is “set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Through his reading of the Bible, Cowper soon developed a personal relationship with Christ and a sense of forgiveness of sin. This was in 1764, when he was thirty-three years old.

Three years later, Cowper was invited to move to Olney, England, where John Newton pastored the parish Anglican Church. It was here for nearly two decades that Newton and Cowper had a close personal friendship. In 1799 their combined talents produced the famous Olney Hymns hymnal. In this collection of 349 hymns, sixty-seven were written by Cowper and the remainder by Newton.

“There Is a Fountain” was originally titled “Peace for the Fountain Opened.” The hymn is based on the Old Testament text, Zechariah 13:1—“In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and uncleanness.

The Sweetest Spot on Earth to Me!

Where do you like to be? Where do you LOVE to be? Some say “Home sweet home!” But my home is not on this earth! So where can I find peace and rest and comfort? In the HOUSE OF THE LORD! Sunday is my favourite day of the week! I love to sing praises to God and His almighty Son; I love to pray to our sympathetic, all wise Lord; and hear the precious truth preached! I also love to be with His children! Let us be like David! One thing he desired, one place he wanted to be (apart from heaven) and that should be our desire too!

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.” Psalm 122:1,9

“LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.” Psalm 26:8

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” Psalm 27:4

“Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.” Psalm 84:4

“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” Psalm 92:13

“I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children. For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.” Psalm 69:8-9

Come with zeal to his house!

Be Strengthened in Spirit!

"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

Ephesians 3:14-19

The Lord wants us to kill the old man and feed the new man. How are you doing this? How often do you eat food? Are you starving your new man? Let’s starve the old man! Kill that wickedness by seeking the Lord and fleeing temptation as Joseph would! Read the Word daily and pray, to gain encouragement and instruction on how to fight against the flesh! You cannot know God or have faith nor be rooted in love if you read not the word! Pray that He will give you wisdom… THEN seek it with your whole heart!

Seek the Lord!

“ Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

–Matthew 5:8

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.”

–Psalm 119:9,10

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. and every man that hath his hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”

–1 John 3:2,3

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:6-9

To be pure is to have our hearts set on one thing alone! The Lord! We should be like our brother David, for many times, in the Psalms, he shows us that the Lord and His will were the most important things in his life! Even in his sin of adultery and murder, he said, “Against Thee, and Thee only, have I sinned”! Do we have this singleness, this PURITY, of heart? Let us strive after Him with our WHOLE heart!

“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.”

–1 Chronicles 16:11

Draw Near to God!

“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.”

James 4:8

Are you drawing near to God? Or: How DO you draw near to God? What does purify your heart mean?:

I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

Psalm 119:113

The Lord is nigh to them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is nigh to all that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Psalm 145:18

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psalm 119:9

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:30

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:1,2
