“I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.”
Show pity, Lord, O Lord, forgive,
Let a repenting rebel live:
Are not Thy mercies large and free?
May not a sinner trust in Thee?
My crimes are great, but don’t surpass
The power and glory of Thy grace:
Great God, Thy nature hath no bound,
So let Thy pard’ning love be found.
Should sudden vengeance seize my breath,
I must pronounce Thee just in death;
And if my soul were sent to hell,
Thy righteous law approves it well.
Yet save a trembling sinner, Lord,
Whose hope, still hov’ring round Thy Word,
Would light on some sweet promise there,
Some sure support against despair.
O Depth of mercy! can it be
That mercy’s still reserved for me?
Ah, can my God His wrath forbear,
And me the chief of sinners spare?
I’m so thankful for the Lord’s mercy! He saved a worthless sinner like me! The depth of His mercy is unfathomable! You would have to be a fool to ask if election is fair. IT IS NOT! And praise the Lord for that! If God had been fair, we would all be damned to hell! Thank you Lord for electing some to be yours, though we do not/cannot deserve it! Thank you for choosing me, and making me to seek after you!
“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”
