Spiritual Adultery

Be sure to search God’s Word, not your feelings or men’s opinions concerning this VERY controversial subject. I love the Lord, and want to please Him in all I do. I hope you do too.  He is so good to reveal truth to His children. I pray that He will continue to do so, and that many will come to the knowledge of this truth, and repent, go forth and sin no more!

golden calf

“Taking an evergreen tree, putting it in your house, decorating it with lights, sitting in the dark, and adoring it to Christmas carols is spiritual adultery. You profess to love Jesus, but you do so with the mementos and techniques of other lovers – the world and pagan religion. You are not content with Christ's pure gospel – for it has no Mass of Christ. You have added the world's seductions to keep you happy in your marriage to Christ. He is highly offended at your whorish ways.” http://www.letgodbetrue.com/

  1. This is a very interesting subject. To start, I do not celebrate Christmas or Easter. I started working on reading the second link, and it is a very good study but I have a few issues and questions about it.
    1. Do you believe that it is wrong to worship God under a tree? I mean, say you are under a tree worshipping God and praying, would you consider that wrong. What I mean is that the tree happens to be there, it is not a symbol to help you worship it is just there.
    2. The whole context of Jeremiah 10 is about building idols not decorating trees.
    3. God did not reject Moses because of a minor modification but for,
20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
    4. Saul was not rejected because he made a minor modification but because he did not obey the word of the Lord which is not minor:
15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
    5. Uzziah got leprosy because his heart was lifted up.
    6. Ananias and his wife were killed because they lied to the Holy Ghost, as Peter said, they could've kept all the money they wanted, they just shouldn't go around saying they gave everything when they hadn't. They just wanted to look good, (Pride).
This may sound like I didn't agree with article, I think that is a very good one, please don't get me wrong I was just concerned about those lines. Sorry for such a long comment.

  2. Thank you for your comment! I do not mind the length of it at all I praise the Lord to find a brother that not only uses the King James Version, but does not celebrate pagan, Roman Catholic holidays either!

The list of short sentences in that document are to get you thinking. There is a much longer explanation for each point made. The brother that wrote that document, I assure you, was not saying that the sins committed by these people were minor. Rather that the changes made in the carrying out of God's commands were minor.

For example: Moses was commanded to speak to the rock to bring forth water for the people. Instead of speaking to it, Moses showed his unbelief by striking the rock. (A minor change in the mode commanded by God, bringing about great punishment for the great sin behind the minor action.)

Our God is a God of detail and order. He cares about the smallest details of the way He wants to be worshiped! He WILL be obeyed. Let us obey Him!

Again, thank you for your comment, for taking the time to read this and for being excited about reading and obeying God's Word to the letter! May He be glorified!"
